Community Impact
Our commitment to service also extends into our communities. Each year, a donation is made on behalf of our clients.
Many of our stakeholders actively volunteer or donate to various nonprofit groups and foundations. It’s engrained in our firm’s culture to serve others as we strive to make a difference in people’s lives – and it inspires the work we do for our clients.
Hooktown Holiday’s, a non-profit organization local to the Warren, PA community. Hooktown Holiday’s supports the efforts of organizations like: Children’s Backpack Program, Salvation Army, St. Joseph Soup Kitchen, Area Agency on Aging, Trinity Hot Meals, Veterans Emergency Help Fund, Sharing Place, and Warren Area-Beaty Middle School Food Pantry. All donations are given directly to those in need as overhead costs are paid by the Board of Directors.
Hooktown Holiday’s Incorporated’s goals are to give back to and fulfill the needs of the community. Thus, by providing financial support and working in conjunction with local charities, the organization is able to successfully support its mission:
“To provide nutritious food, warm clothing and/or other necessities of life to those individuals or families in need during the holiday season and winter months of the year.”
Heifer International’s mission is to work with communities to end world hunger and poverty and to care for the Earth.
The “teach a man to fish” philosophy is what drove Dan West, a farmer from the American Midwest, to found Heifer International. And now, nearly 70 years later, that philosophy still inspires their work to end world hunger and poverty throughout the world once and for all.
Heifer Internationals empower families to turn hunger and poverty into hope and prosperity by linking communities and bringing sustainable agriculture and commerce to areas with a long history of poverty. Their donation gifts a livestock animal to a family, which provides them with both food and reliable income, as agricultural products such as milk, eggs and honey can be traded or sold at market. When many families gain this new sustainable income, it brings new opportunities for building schools, creating agricultural cooperatives, forming community savings and funding small businesses.
The core of their model is “Passing on the Gift”. This means families share the training they receive, and pass on the first female offspring of their livestock to another family. This extends the impact of the original gift, allowing a once impoverished family to become donors and full participants in improving their communities.
The goal of every Heifer project is to help families achieve self-reliance. We do this by providing them the tools they need to sustain themselves, and it’s thanks to the generosity of donors like you.
Together, we can change the world, one family, one community, at a time. And it all starts with a gift.
Because of your support, a donation was made to Heifer International.
